I’m having breakfast and looking out and watching the two foals (baby horses) play. One of the foals is a little non gilded foal and can run like a race car.The little fillie tries to out run him but is unsuccessful and the two slip and slide in the mud. They are so beautiful.

Their mothers are very pretty but when they first came they did not look so good. They where not fed properly and looked unnurished. Well months of feeding and care they have fat little bellies and are so happy. We will keep them to gether  as long as they nurse and they whin on their own.  We think one of the mothers may be having another foal . We hope not because it is to soon after her little philly. When she came to us she malnurished and looked pitiful but now she is so beautiful, but looks very pregnant.

Animals are so wonderful. I have yet to see one mistreat their off-spring even thought they them selves have been mistreated. Should show mankind something. Again so many things I learned for caring for neglected animals.

For instance, one of our horses is named My Lady. She came so pitiful that I cried each time that I looked at her.We had to take our time and make sure we would not over feed her and let her rummage through our yard and eat a little grass. She never ever showed any aggression. When I would walk she would follow me and put her big skinny head over my shoulder and just walk with me. She never pushed or complained about her feeding. Whatever we gave her she was happy. It took time for her to come to us in the beginning so she was stalled and when we saw she could trust us we let her roam the grounds around the house, I gave her the name My Lady because she came to be My lady. Her and I grew to love each other and trust each other .She would hear my voice and slowly waltz over to me. Her legs were lame because she was tied with wire and had no were to walk, not even back and forth in a stall. They were so crooked that I always worried she would trip over something. You might wonder why did we not put her down. Well I felt if she could eat she could live. I wanted her to have a few more days or month to live like a Lady. She did and lived with us for three and half years.

Will continue later on bye for now.

Well, here I am again. I was so cold today. I like the cold and it felt good to work outside.Had to buy new hoses everything was frozen. My goodness it was cold for the Carolinas. Everyone needed to drink.Freezing my tail off Wondering and thinking how did I get into this wonderful work. Sheer accident!

We had three dogs and five stranded cats. Each was dragged in by the two remaining children still at home . We five dogs but one had died. Moving to the Carolinas we needed a place that would welcome our well trained pets(hahah)well almost well trained.  Then it happened. We meet this nice young man ,Tom, who showed us his farm. Bababoom , I immediately I fell in love with the place and said this is it.Lots of land and wow , chickens, and horses. We were so excited that we told sweet Tom we”ll take it. And the story continues eight years later , now.

Of course the four horses belonged to someone but we wanted to help with their care. To make this story short we ended owning two of the horses. Our reaction was pure joy. Free horses! We had so many people who knew so much about horses that I learned almost everyone had some expert advice. Then we recieved books and of course I read them and thought , oh my, this is going to be work. I thought that all the horses needed was land and we pet or played with them that would be it. The vet would only have to come out once a year and I could afford that. Surprise, horses are not dogs or cats but this huge very dependant animal who need a lot of care. We have such wonderful experiences some happy, some sad and some very funny. I want to share them all with people who love animals as much as we do .

But our experience will be next on how we adopted the most wonderful two horses from Washington D.C. Each have a little history behind them and when I write the next post I will share .
